Scrolls pulled from drawers before rehousing.

We removed the old tissue paper.

The condition of many of the scrolls is quite fragile and brittle. Some of the damage is due to the weight of the scrolls flattening over time against the flat surfaces of the shelves.

With fresh bags and ties, these scrolls which have extended end knobs will be housed in alkaline corrugated boxes retrofitted with hanging fixtures constructed from Ethafoam and covered with Volara foam.
